Accountant/Financial Reporting Analyst
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for developing internal and external financial reports utilizing report writing tools.
· Responsible for developing internal operational reports to support all phases of the business which may include sales, warehousing, accounting operations, etc.
· Proficiency with report writing tools may include ERP report writing utilities, Excel, and Access.
· Assist with the implementation of a report writing module as an add-on to the existing ERP system. Implementation will involve developing data/user requirements and data mapping. Initially, the candidate will be fully dedicated to the report writer implementation.
· Subsequent to the implementation, the accountant will be responsible for significant portions of internal and external financial reporting on an on-going basis.
· This position will involve tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities which may include general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
· The Accountant will have contact with senior-level management which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
· Responds to inquiries from CFO, Controller, and other firm wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
Minimum Requirements
Education
BA/BS in Accounting or similar degree with emphasis in Accounting
Technical Skills and Prior Experience
Five to Seven years experience in GAAP financial reporting/general ledger
At least three years experience is required with at least one of the following performance management reporting systems: planning, consolidation, operational analytic application, business intelligence tools, and financial reporting
Specific experience with INFOR PM 10 or Hyperion reporting is highly desired.
Power user in Excel. Intermediate Access. Intermediate Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills required
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.

Duties and Responsibilities
•
Manage AP staff. Includes, Customer Vendor Relations, and the AP disbursement
group which handles all check disbursements, 1099 and tax related matters.
•
Assist with the integration of A/P function into work flow for any acquired
companies. Integration may include working with multiple ERP systems.
•
Responsible for accounting functions related to any A/P transactions including
maintenance of related A/P general ledger accounts where necessary and reconciling
detail A/P accounts to the G/L monthly.
•
Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies, related to
accounts payable to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
•
Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end
information; ensure accuracy of any accounts payable accounts accumulated in the
financial statements.
•
Act as a liaison between the company, government and external accountants
to meet information needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for
historical purposes.
•
Select and hire employees. Train and evaluate employees to enhance their
performance, development, and work product. Address performance issues and
make recommendations for personnel actions. Motivate and reward employees
including providing salary increases, bonuses and promotions within allocated
budgets and company guidelines.
•
Prepare and recommend operating and personnel budgets for approval. Monitor
spending for adherence to budget.
•
Provide accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; respond
to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.

Basic Qualifications
•
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
•
Five or more years of Accounts Payable experience
•
Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising A/P staff.
•
Must have large ERP AP system experience, as well as 1099 filing experience
•
Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
•
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting accountants, clients, and upper
management
•
Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and
management
•
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
•
Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles
•
Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
